Riding Halifax.
The local rules
In HRM, e-bikes meeting the provincial power-assisted-bicycle definition (pedals, under 500 W, max 32 km/h) may ride on streets, bike lanes and most shared paths but not sidewalks, and must have a helmet, bell and lights; individual parks can post restrictions — check signage.

How it rides
A growing all-ages-and-abilities network anchored by downtown protected lanes (Hollis, South Park, Rainnie) and greenways such as the Chain of Lakes Trail and Halifax Urban Greenway feeding onto the peninsula.
Local bylaws and rebate programs change — confirm current rules with the city and the official source before relying on them. Shops are listed for reference, not endorsement.
