Riding Hamilton.
The local rules
Ontario power-assisted-bicycle rules apply (≤500 W, assist to 32 km/h, pedals, under 120 kg, age 16+, helmet, no sidewalks). In Hamilton, compliant pedal-assist e-bikes are generally allowed on roads, bike lanes and Conservation Authority trails where bikes are permitted, but the Bruce Trail bans cycling and some rail trails prohibit e-bikes — check signage.

No active municipal or provincial purchase rebate for Hamilton residents right now — when one opens, it will appear here.
How it rides
Improving but hilly infrastructure, with the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail along the harbour and the Hamilton-Brantford Rail Trail as popular routes; the well-used Hamilton Bike Share (1,000+ bikes) and pedal-assist make escarpment climbs manageable.
