Riding Ottawa.
The local rules
On the NCC Capital Pathway (200+ km), only bicycle-style pedal e-bikes are allowed at a max 20 km/h; scooter-style, throttle-only and e-kick-scooters are banned. Province-wide Ontario rules (≤500 W, cutoff 32 km/h, pedals, ≤120 kg, age 16+, helmet) otherwise apply; no sidewalks or 400-series highways.

No active municipal or provincial purchase rebate for Ottawa residents right now — when one opens, it will appear here.
How it rides
One of North America's most extensive off-road cycling networks — the NCC Capital Pathway (200+ km) plus the Rideau Canal, Ottawa River and Rideau River pathways, largely flat and paved. Summer Sunday Bikedays close select parkways to cars.
